High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy for Pain & Inflammation on Long Island
Tired of planning your day around pain and stiffness? New York Cryogen offers targeted High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy designed to help reduce pain and inflammation while supporting mobility and recovery. Start with a consultation. Same-day appointments are often available.
Targeted treatment for pain & inflammation
Most people expect something like an ice pack. High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy is different: a targeted treatment that rapidly cools the skin over a specific area using high-pressure carbon dioxide (CO₂), focused only on the area that bothers you.
Our goal is to help reduce pain and inflammation while supporting mobility and recovery as part of your overall care plan. Results vary from person to person.

Common questions
What is High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy?
High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy (HPMC) is a targeted treatment that rapidly cools the skin over a specific area using high-pressure carbon dioxide (CO₂). Treatment is focused on the affected area rather than the whole body.
How is it different from an ice pack?
An ice pack cools gradually and inconsistently. HPMC delivers controlled, high-pressure cooling to a defined treatment area, with skin temperature monitored during treatment.
Is it the same as whole-body cryotherapy?
No. Whole-body cryotherapy exposes the entire body to extreme cold in a chamber. HPMC is applied only to the specific area being treated.
Does treatment hurt?
Most people describe an intense cold sensation that passes quickly. Your provider will explain what to expect before treatment begins.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment typically takes about 3–6 minutes per area, and most treatment sessions last roughly 10–20 minutes depending on the areas treated.
How soon can I be seen?
Same-day appointments are often available at both locations. Book online or call, and we will find the earliest time that works for you.
Is there any downtime?
Most people return to their normal activities after treatment. Your provider will discuss any recommendations specific to you.
Ready to find out if it may be right for you?
If pain is getting in the way of what you want to do, a consultation is a simple first step. It's a conversation, and you decide what happens next. Same-day appointments are often available.
