What we do
We provide targeted High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy, which rapidly cools the skin over a specific treatment area using high-pressure carbon dioxide (CO₂). Treatment is focused only on the area of concern, and sessions are short.
Who we help
Patients come to us with many different concerns, including arthritis, sciatica, back and neck pain, shoulder, knee, and hip pain, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, bursitis, tennis and golfer's elbow, and sports injuries. Many have already tried rest, ice, medication, physical therapy, chiropractic care, or injections.

Meet our founder
Gregory Papageorge, Founder & CEO
Before starting New York Cryogen, Greg spent 24 years in healthcare sales, specializing in spine medical devices and providing clinical support to spine surgeons during complex procedures.
In 2016, Greg had a complex spinal surgery that left him with arm paralysis and chronic pain. Living with pain himself, and seeing the limits of the cold-therapy options available, shaped his interest in a more targeted approach. He founded New York Cryogen in November 2021 to offer High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy to people across Long Island.
Greg's approach starts with listening. Every patient begins with a consultation, and treatment is only discussed if it seems appropriate for that person.
Basil “Bill” Kakis, Vice President of Business Development
Bill has worked alongside Greg since the early days of New York Cryogen and has been closely involved in the company's growth and in how High-Pressure Medical Cryotherapy is explained to patients, athletes, and healthcare and wellness professionals.
His focus is helping people understand the technology and decide whether it may be appropriate for their needs, whether they are managing pain, inflammation, or limited mobility, or looking for recovery options. He is often the first person patients talk to when they have questions about getting started.
What Bill values most about the work is hearing from people who have struggled with pain and are glad to have another option to explore.
